I’m New Here

leaves at Letchworth 2014Welcome! We are the Newman Catholic Community at Rochester Institute of Technology. We are a growing and vibrant community that nourishes and integrates faith and learning, and together we share our gifts with all the world. While affirming the individual, the Newman Catholic Community seeks to empower the community to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

The Newman Catholic community engages in every aspect of life at RIT through prayer, liturgy, community service and pastoral care. Together we invite all to develop his or her unique faith through worship, reflection, service and community.  We foster the development of leadership, on campus as well as in service to the poor and marginalized of our world.

Located in the Schmitt Interfaith Center, in the Center for Religious Life, we are committed to promote ecumenical and inter-religious understanding. Through these practices, we commit ourselves to foster understanding and respect between and among the various religious traditions embraced by members of the RIT community.  In doing this, we come closer to seeking justice and peace in our community and world.  Newman Catholic Community believes the world needs each of us. Together, let’s discover and celebrate God’s intimate love for us while we share this good news with the world in which we live.
